Elon Musk says America is headed straight for bankruptcy, with the national debt now exceeding $35 trillion. He suggests that deregulation and less government would be possible if Donald Trump wins the presidency. Musk also emphasises how debt will affect future generations. The United States is rapidly approaching default on its debt, which is growing at an accelerating rate after surpassing a record $35 trillion just a few weeks ago, according to billionaire Elon Musk’s warning on Monday. Musk was questioned about his proposal for a government efficiency commission during a sit-down at the All-In Podcast’s All-In Summit 2024 event.
Musk has committed to chairing the panel should former President Trump be elected to a second term in office.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks onstage during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2024 in Cannes, France, on June 19.
“If Trump wins — and obviously, I suspect there are people with mixed feelings about whether that should happen — we do have an opportunity to do kind of a once-in-a-lifetime deregulation and reduction in the size of government,” Musk said. “Because the other thing besides the regulations, America is also going bankrupt extremely quickly, and… everyone seems to be sort of whistling past the graveyard on this one.”
US NATIONAL DEBT HITS A NEW RECORD $35 TRILLION
During a conversation with Trump at Xi last month, Musk—who supported Trump when the former president was the target of a successful assassination attempt in July—suggested the formation of a government efficiency panel. Last week, the outgoing president gave his approval to the proposal and declared that, should the Republican nominee win the presidency, he will designate the businessman to head the panel.
IF THE AMERICAN ECONOMY STARTS COLLAPSING, THEN SOONER OR LATER ALL THE WORLD’S ECONOMIES WILL FALL PREY TO IT, AND SOON A SITUATION OF GREAT DEPRESSION WILL ARISE.
