This is a life-changing story

Once upon a time, there was a king in Ho Chi Minh City.
One day, he saw two monks passing by his palace. The king called them inside and said:
“Please come and have a meal in my palace.”

The two monks agreed.
Before eating, one monk went to take a bath.

While he was away, the king said to the monk sitting with him:
“I feel your friend is very wise.”
The monk laughed and replied:
“No, Majesty, he is just a donkey. I taught him everything. He knows nothing.”

A little later, the first monk returned, and the second one went to take a bath.
Now the king spoke to the first monk:
“Your friend seems very intelligent.”
The monk quickly said:
“No, no! He is a horse. He doesn’t know anything. I taught him everything.”

Soon after, food was brought in.
The king placed two platters in front of them.
On one platter, he served dry hay, and on the other, fresh green grass.

The monks became angry and said:
“King! Why are you insulting us? We are monks, not horses or donkeys!”

The king smiled and replied:
“I only did what you told me.
One of you said his friend was a donkey, so I gave him dry hay.
The other said his friend was a horse, so I gave him green grass.
I simply served what you yourselves called each other.”

The lesson is that, usually, so-called educated people are filled with jealousy and hatred, while uneducated people are often honest and straightforward. We usually think that educated people are more intellectual and possess great wisdom, but in reality, most of them are poorly educated and have a very low level of wisdom.

When the world was living in tribal societies, it was so serene and calm. But as so-called education entered people’s minds without morality, the peace of the world turned to dust, and the world descended into the depths of turmoil, ego, hatred, racism, chauvinism, genocide, and more.

I heard that story from a Hindu priest, but I can’t remember his name. Still, I want to attribute this story to that great scholar

(Hindi)
